Where to Find Receptionist Jobs Near Me
So you’ve got your receptionist resume and cover letter completed and you’re ready to start using it. But where do you find receptionist jobs near you?
Many of us start with big job boards, like Indeed or LinkedIn, but those places have the most competition - they’re crowded. I’m assuming you’re reading this article because you’re smart and you want to make sure you find the best receptionist jobs with the least amount of time spent trying to find them.
If that’s you, then you’re in the right place.
This week I reviewed nearly 500 receptionist jobs across the US on over 40 job boards and analyzed them based on where they were posted. In this article, I’m going to give you my insights and the trends that I uncovered so you can save yourself some time when searching for these types of jobs.
Which Job Board Has the Most Receptionist Jobs
This didn’t come as a surprise to me. I’ve been recruiting since 2015 and hiring administrative help long before that. Indeed by far has the most opportunities for receptionists listed on their job board. To be exact, they had double the next largest job boards which were Glassdoor and ZipRecruiter.
If you’re not searching for receptionist jobs on Indeed, you’re missing out.
Receptionist Job Boards You Shouldn’t Ignore
These job boards have a lot of competition, meaning you can expect to be one of many applicants. But that shouldn’t deter you if you are well qualified and have written a receptionist resume to show that. The majority of receptionist jobs are advertised on these websites.
Indeed
I already mentioned that this site has twice as many receptionist jobs as the next two sites I reviewed. But it’s even more important if you’re searching for medical receptionist jobs. It has nearly 3 times the number of medical receptionist jobs listed on it when compared to the next two.
Because of the sheer volume of receptionist jobs advertised with Indeed, you should be checking this daily. You can even set up alerts so you don’t have to check it manually every day.
Glassdoor
According to Glassdoor, there were over 10,000 receptionist jobs listed across the US in the past week. That’s a lot of jobs. I don’t like that you can’t search for jobs without creating an account on this site, but if you are searching for receptionist jobs, I think it’s worth it.
ZipRecruiter
There was a significant drop from Glassdoor to ZipRecruiter, but they still had nearly 3,000 receptionist jobs advertised in the past week on their website. When it came down to the type of receptionist job, ZipRecruiter had nearly the same number of postings for retail, office, and commercial front desk receptionists as Indeed and more than Glassdoor. If those are the types of receptionist jobs you’re looking for, this would be a website I would review daily by setting up job alerts.
Administrative Jobs
This job board isn’t nearly as big as the others; however, because of its niche nature specializing in receptionist and other administrative roles, it would be on my list of frequent stops. When I checked, it still had several thousand job listings in the past month and because it’s not as popular as the others, you’ll find less competition. Instead of being one out of a thousand applicants, you may only be one out of a hundred. Those are much better odds.
Best Place to Find Medical Receptionist Jobs
There are three job boards that I found to be the most productive for finding medical receptionist jobs.
Indeed
Indeed dominates the medical receptionist job listing space. You will find more medical receptionist jobs here than in any other place.
Health Career Center
This is a niche job board serving the healthcare sector. They tend to advertise jobs with larger healthcare systems. If that’s where you want to work, I would add this website to my job board list. When I looked, there were over 175 medical receptionist jobs listed here.
Career Vitals
This is another niche job board. There were only 6 receptionist jobs listed when I looked, but there aren’t as many people applying for these jobs either. Because of that, this is a website I would visit once or twice a week. You may strike gold.
Best Place to Find Hotel Receptionist Jobs
Besides the major job boards I listed earlier, here are two niche job boards that I found useful for hotel receptionist job listings.
Hospitality Online
This is a niche job board serving the hotel industry. When I looked there were 28 hotel receptionist jobs listed on their website.
HCareers
HCareers has been around since 1998 and many hospitality employers post jobs on this website. There were 24 hotel receptionist jobs listed when I visited it.
Best Place to Find Dental Receptionist Jobs
Dental Post
There were 32 dental receptionist jobs listed when I searched this website. They have advertised jobs for tens of thousands of dental practices across the country and because these are the only employers they work with, this should be on your frequent visitor list for dental receptionist jobs.
Best Place to Find Veterinary Receptionist Jobs
Fur Work
The best job board I could find that specializes in veterinary jobs was Fur Works. They’re small, but they are niche which means less competition. I only found a couple of veterinary receptionist jobs, but I don’t imagine they have a lot of applicants applying which could work in your favor.
